ABOUT US

The Flag & General Officers’ Network (TFGON) was founded in 1995 and currently has more than 2,100 active duty, Reserve, Guard and retired Admirals and Generals as registered members.  There are no dues, and all activities and events are funded through corporate sponsors, attendees at networking events, and periodic voluntary, tax-deductible donations from members.  The only requirement for membership and participation is to have been promoted to O-7 or above in one of the eight U.S. Uniformed Services, including the six military branches as well as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.  Full details and FREE membership registration is available on the TFGON website:  https://www.flagandgeneralofficers.org.

As part of the application process, we require proof of identification to prevent identity theft and to ensure our members are or were bona fide U.S. Flag and General Officers.  This proof can be an image of either your Uniformed Services CAC or Retired ID card.  We will retain a copy of your ID in our secure platform and will not share it with other members or the public.  If you have any questions, please contact us at:  membership@flagandgeneralofficers.com.

TFGON is an IRS-approved official 501(c)(19) War Veterans organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and managed, administered, and operated by an elected Board of Directors and elected officers.  We function with four standing committees along with an executive committee.  The Board consists of 21 members with representation from all uniformed services and rotates regularly.  All regular TFGON members are eligible to serve. Current board members can be viewed on the TFGON website.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS AND PROGRAMS

Registered TFGON members have access to the membership directory maintained on the TFGON website – a great way to stay connected with fellow Flag and General Officers, both active duty and retired.

TFGON offers members free enrollment in TSA’s Pre-Check program via a unique agreement honoring members’ status as a retired Flag or General Officer.  Details can be found under “Programs” on the TFGON website.

TFGON quarterly networking events are a great way to learn first-hand what opportunities other Flag and General Officers are pursuing after military retirement and to make valuable connections.  With a long tradition in the Washington, D.C. area, these events are now being actively scheduled in other areas of the country.  The annual schedule is posted on the TFGON website (click on “Events” on the TFGON home page)

A current listing of available job positions of particular interest to Flag and General Officers is maintained on the “members only” section of the TFGON website.  More than 400 members have obtained full-time employment through this system in recent years.

Members seeking employment are able to post their resumes on the TFGON website.

TFGON members receive a weekly newsletter via email that contains TFGON updates, other items of particular interest to both active and retired Flag and General Officers, along with a listing of current jobs and resumes available on the TFGON website.

TFGON board membership rotations allow interested members the opportunity to garner actual experience on a non-profit corporate board.

TFGON’s Programs Committee is actively exploring the addition of other free member services of interest to TFGON members, as well as establishing various public service programs, including a speakers’ bureau.
